This blog from Niner Bikes sums up the current status of bike availability pretty well. https://ninerbikes.com/blogs/niner-blog/bicycle-shipping-and-lead-times?mc_cid=5ce447f60d&mc_eid=1eafb51c1e
Ohio bike shops have been deemed “essential businesses” and Black Pug Bike Repair is up and running. However, no customers are allowed in the shop due to the small work area and all transactions will be done outside until further notice. Pick up and delivery are still being offered and as always, all service and sales are by appointment only. On that note, if you know of anyone in the Yellow Springs surrounding area who is need of necessary bike service and is experiencing financial burden, please have them contact me and I will get them rolling at little to no cost for minor repairs. For major repairs, deferred payments can be arranged. If you prefer to do business with another local shop, I recommend that you contact them to see what their protocol is. Stay healthy my friends!

Well, after some deep, philosophical conversion with the higher ups at Scott Sports, Black Pug Bike Repair is no longer a dealer for Scott bikes. It’s not a decision I’m happy with after 5 years of selling their bikes, but there will be another shop in the Dayton area that has committed to a large inventory and Black Pug was not a stocking dealer, special order only. The folks at Scott didn’t seem it fair that one store commits to stocking a lot of bikes and another doesn’t have to. I get that. However, I still have an account with Scott and can take care of my customers when it comes to service parts and warranty claims. I am grateful for that as I didn’t want to leave you all hanging. A huge THANK YOU to the hundreds of customers and followers of Black Pug who supported me and signed the petition put out their by my good friend and customer Pete Hitzeman! I am truly humbled. Black Pug’s current road bike offerings are from Co-Motion, Lynskey, Carver, Soma, Velo Orange, and for a do it all carbon rig, the Niner RLT RDO. The full list of bike offerings will be updated in early Spring 2020.

Come hang out with fellow mountain bikers and check out some 2018 Niners on the awesome trails at MoMBA! 4485 Union Rd. Dayton, OH 45424. Don’t fret if you haven’t tried mountain biking because there are some beginner friendly trails as well as somewhat challenging ones. A helmet is required and bring your pedals if you can. If not, there will be a few platform pedals available to borrow. Also, bring your appetite! Some folks from Miami Valley Mountain Bike Association will be heating up the grill!
The Niner Bikes preseason order is happening this month at Black Pug Bike Repair. Get in on the order and enjoy 15% off retail price!! Any catch? Pay for your bike at the time of order. That’s it. And as usual, count on meticulous assembly and follow up service from Ohio’s only Niner dealer. Pending availability, expect to be riding by the second week of April. Maybe, by the time your bike arrives, the trails will be dry enough to ride!
